Vintage find

I got her off a local auction site.  At first I thought she was a Malibu PJ; but she's not tanned. Through Googling and some helpful people on the Magical Misfits Facebook page, I discovered she's a 1974 (ish?) Canadian Barbie with the Steffi face.

I'm not usually crazy over vintage dolls, but I love her face.  She was a bit dirty; so I washed her with Dawn.  She still has some darker spots I haven't gotten off.  I have not yet tried the magic eraser.  She definitely needs a reroot (hair has been cut in spots, and missing lots of plugs.  I ordered a couple colors from Dollyhair.com, I will decide which one when they get here.), and her lips repainted.

Her left arm keeps popping out, I don't think it's the right arm for her body.  I might try and rebody her, but not sure yet.

Here is an eBay listing of what I believe to be the same doll:

New Fashionista!

I finally got the new blue haired curvy Fashionista today, at Wal-Mart!!  I bought two; because I want to rebody one head on to an articulated body.  I don't have a body for her yet in the right color tone; but I'm going to keep my eye out at the thrift shops.

I am kind of disappointed with her hair, though.  It was scraggly right out of the box, uneven with kinks in it (I assume from the elastics holding her into the box).  It's also a bit greasy.

A bunch of hairs came out brushing it :(

She can't sit very well, either, especially with that tight skirt on!  I do like her, though.  I'm going to try and make her some more fashions, I think.

New *Hasbro Princess faces

I was in Wal-Mart today (waiting for the new Fashionistas to appear in Canada), browsing the toy section.  I noticed the Disney Princesses have different face molds now.  I'm not sure I like them. The heads are rather...large for my taste.

I thought the resemblance to the movie characters were better on the older dolls.  Rapunzel's looks not too bad...but up close the others don't really do anything for me.

I have corrected my post...turns out these are Hasbro dolls and not Mattel.
